Job Summary

Charlotte Mechanical is seeking an experienced Residential Service Plumber to join our team in Charlotte, NC. In this role, you will perform a variety of plumbing repairs and maintenance for residential customers, ensuring top-quality service and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a dedicated professional with 2–5 years of plumbing experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude. Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair residential plumbing issues: Troubleshoot problems such as leaks, clogs, low water pressure, and fixture malfunctions, providing effective solutions for homeowners.
  • Perform maintenance and installations: Conduct routine maintenance on plumbing systems (pipes, drains, water heaters, etc.) and install or replace fixtures and appliances (sinks, faucets, toilets, water heaters) as needed to keep systems running smoothly.
  • Ensure quality and code compliance: Complete all work in accordance with local plumbing codes and safety standards, maintaining a high standard of quality on every job.
  • Customer communication: Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers about diagnosis, repair options, and preventive maintenance tips. Provide a friendly, professional experience to every customer, answering questions and ensuring their peace of mind.
  • Job completion and documentation: Stay on the job until the work is fully completed and the issue is resolved. Maintain a clean and safe work area during and after service. Complete all required service tickets, documentation, or mobile app entries (using company-provided Apple devices) promptly after each job.
  • Teamwork and availability: Work independently and as part of the Residential team to efficiently complete scheduled calls. Coordinate with dispatch and other team members as needed. Be available for a rotating on-call schedule to handle emergency after-hours or weekend service requests when assigned.

Requirements:

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Experience: 2–5 years of professional plumbing experience, preferably in residential service environments. Proven ability to diagnose and fix a wide range of residential plumbing issues.
  • Strong work ethic: Commitment to finishing each job with high quality workmanship and willingness to stay until the job is done and the customer is satisfied, even if it requires extended hours.
  • On-call availability: Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for evenings or weekends as needed. Reliability in responding to emergency service calls during your on-call shifts.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Friendly, courteous demeanor with the ability to explain technical information to customers in simple terms and represent the company professionally.
  • Physical capability: Ability to safely lift up to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks (e.g. bending, kneeling, crawling) as required on the job.
  • Driving & records: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Comfortable driving to job sites in the greater Charlotte area.
  • Clear background: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening, reflecting the company’s commitment to safety and trustworthiness.
  • Tech savvy: Comfortable using Apple devices (iPhone/iPad) and related software/apps for receiving work orders, documentation, and communication. Familiarity with mobile technology in the field is required.
