Position Objective: The Team Leader in the Paint Department is responsible for leading the assigned department(s) to ensure the production of high-quality work. This role involves coordinating tasks, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and maintaining departmental performance and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:1.Task Assignment and Schedule Management:oAllocate tasks within the department to ensure timely completion of production schedules and operating plans.oMonitor workflow and adjust assignments as necessary to meet production goals.2.Problem Resolution and Collaboration:oCollaborate with other facility management to identify, resolve, and create solutions for operational issues.oFoster a cooperative environment to enhance productivity and problem-solving.3.Safety Compliance:oEnforce compliance with safety regulations to maintain a safe and secure work environment.oConduct regular safety audits and training sessions to uphold safety standards.4.Role as Relief Person:oStep in to perform duties of absent or unavailable team members, ensuring continuity of operations.oProvide cross-training to ensure team members can cover essential tasks during absences.5.Housekeeping and Maintenance:oLead and participate in housekeeping efforts within the paint booth and other department areas.oEnsure equipment and workspaces are clean, organized, and well- maintained.6.Special Projects:oAssist with additional projects and tasks assigned by the Supervisor.oDemonstrate flexibility and adaptability in taking on new challenges.Position Expectations:•Production Performance:oOversee and be accountable for the production performance of the department, ensuring targets and quality standards are met.oContinuously seek ways to improve efficiency and productivity.•Departmental Knowledge:oMaintain a broad understanding of department operations and business performance.oUse knowledge to make informed decisions and forecasts.•Record Keeping:oEnsure accuracy and integrity in departmental record-keeping and reporting.oUtilize data to track performance and identify areas for improvement.•Communication and Interpersonal Skills:oExhibit excellent communication skills with both subordinates and superiors.oFoster a positive and collaborative team environment through effective interpersonal interactions.•Team Building and Training:oMotivate and build a cohesive team by recognizing and developing individual strengths.oProvide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge.•Role Model:oUphold and exemplify high standards of integrity and character.oServe as a role model for employees, demonstrating professionalism and ethical behavior.Qualifications: •Education:oHigh School Diploma required; some college-level coursework preferred.•Technical Skills:oProficiency with computer-integrated manufacturing systems.oBasic-level abilities in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to create and interpret documents and reports.• Experience:oPrevious experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.oStrong understanding of paint department processes and quality control measures.Palmer Hamilton, LLC offers a dynamic and supportive work environment, with opportunities for growth and development.
