Sprinter van or truck Owner Operator Driver plays a crucial role in the transportation industry, responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of freight. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated and possesses strong driving skills, along with a keen understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair. As an Owner Operator, you will manage your own vehicle while ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport freight to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
• Perform routine automotive repairs and maintenance on the vehicle as needed.
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary.
• Ensure all freight is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.

Requirements

• Must own and operate a sprinter van, cargo van or Dry van.
• Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).
• Excellent driving record with no major traffic violations or accidents.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• FAST card preferred
• Must have legal status in Canada.
• A passport permitting entry into the United States or a valid visa.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Must maintain insurance coverage that meets the company’s requirements.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair techniques to maintain vehicle performance.
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation for loading and unloading freight.
• Experience operating forklifts for efficient material handling.
• Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to address any issues that arise during transport.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with clients and team members.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
