Job Description
United Sports is looking for responsible and energetic individuals to join our team for Summer Camp 2025! We are hiring Day Camp and Sports Camp counselors for what we know will be the best summer yet.
Summer Camp Dates: May 28th through August 22nd (some hours available in early May; applicant does not need to be able to work all weeks of camp, but is expected to be able to work at least 7 of the 13 weeks).
Camp Hours: Monday - Friday, 6:30am to 6:30pm (counselors typically work a 5 to 9 hours shift during the day; additional incentives available for working opening/closing shifts)
Our summer camps at United Sports for ages 3 to 13 are filled with fun games, sports, crafts, activities, and special events!
Sports Camps include soccer, flag football, gymnastics, basketball, tennis, volleyball and cheer.
Specialty Camps include gaming, cooking, and arts & crafts.
Responsibilities:
- -Guide campers between the ages of 3 and 13 throughout their camp experience, and create a safe, caring, and fun environment for campers.
- -Assume responsibility for leadership and guidance to campers in daily activities, with special attention to safety, camper participation activities, and interactions between campers.
- -Serve as a good role model in personal language, appearance, and communication skills.
- -Assume responsibility for health/welfare of campers entrusted to his/her charge
- -Communicate verbally with campers individually each day
- -Create a fun and inviting space for all campers.
- -Create daily activities for campers.
- -Ensure inclusion of all campers in daily activities.
- -Respond to any behavioral situations.
- -Help implement a weekly schedule for your camp group.
- -Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include crafts, games, sports, etc..
- -Ensure that the camp room is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
- -Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
- -Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program. *
- -Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers safety and their whereabouts at all times.

- -Be able to communicate verbally with campers, and provide instructions.

- -Follow all camp rules and guidelines.
- -Be able to observe camper behavior in daily camp life, to respond to health and safety concerns, and to deal appropriately with the improper behavior.
- -Submit all background checks, clearances, and trainings required by DHS and United Sports Youth Programs Department.
Compensation: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
United Sports is a 127,000 square-foot indoor, 72-acre outdoor sports complex located directly off the Route 30 Bypass in the heart of Chester County, PA. This privately-funded, over $15 million project transformed a historic, but long-neglected, airport into a major center for recreation and field access. United Sports is located in Downingtown PA, a suburb just southwest of Philadelphia. In a time of rapid urban development, rather than building homes or additional corporate buildings, United Sports designed a complex that encompasses 11 outdoor, playing fields and 3 acres under roof with multiple playing surfaces for varying sport use.
United Sports provides an opportunity for your child to participate in sports in a safe environment. Without these additional fields and programs, registrations for youth leagues would be limited due to a lack of field space. On a regular basis, United Sports attracts participants and spectators from a 60-mile to 60-minute radius. Centrally located, United Sports is convenient to people from nearby, neighboring states (Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey).
