Job Title: Senior Level Data Scientist

Location: DC Area

Required Education:

• Bachelors degree plus 7-10 years of experience, or a masters degree plus 5 years of experience.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Experience with ML fields, e.g., natural language processing, computer vision, statistical learning theory
• Hands-on experience with NLP, Large Models, text embedding, semantic query, generative AI for text, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG)
• Familiarity with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, including supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning, and neural networks
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Experience building ML models as an ML engineer or data scientist
• Proficiency in Python, R, Scala, Java, C++, with documentation for reproducibility
• Experience with Apache Spark/Databricks for AI/ML workloads
• Handling large datasets, data visualization, SQL, and GPU-based model development
• Experience with cloud data storage, especially RDS PostgreSQL, pgvector, Elastic, and OpenSearch
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences
• Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with SCI eligibility
• U.S. citizenship required

Major Duties/Tasks:

• Design, develop, test, and support data science solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions
• Optimize AI models for performance and scalability, leveraging cloud and distributed computing, including GPU-enabled Kubernetes
• Stay updated on AI research and apply new findings
• Manage AI/ML component lifecycle from R&D to deployment
• Diagnose data challenges, implement solutions, and evaluate performance
• Document and present findings and requirements
• Develop data modeling strategies and determine cause-effect relationships
• Utilize development environments, data visualization, and analysis tools
• Maintain and develop shared libraries and tools
• Contribute to rapid prototyping strategies
