Job Title: Armed Security Officer

Location: Westmont, Illinois

Job Type: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available

Schedules: All Shifts Available (Days/Afternoons/Overnights)

Salary: $30.00 An Hour

Description: We are looking for a vigilant and dependable individual to join our team as an Armed Security Officer. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of our client's premises, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observational skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to manage potentially stressful situations with professionalism and poise.

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol assigned areas regularly to deter and detect unauthorized activity.

  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to any suspicious behavior or security breaches.

  • Conduct thorough inspections of the premises to ensure all doors, windows, and access points are secure.

  • Respond promptly to requests for assistance or emergencies, such as medical incidents, disturbances, or accidents.

  • Maintain accurate logs and reports detailing security incidents, disturbances, and any other noteworthy activities that occur during shifts.

  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and clients with inquiries, directions, and other needs.

  • Collaborate effectively with local law enforcement agencies and emergency responders when necessary.

  • Follow company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations, to uphold security standards and ensure compliance.

  • Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and relevant laws.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

  • Must be willing to work in an armed capacity.

Requirements:

  • Military service in an occupational specialty related to law enforcement such as military police, combat arms, or special forces

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience carrying a firearm as a law enforcement officer, with zero disciplinary action for the misuse of firearms or use of force

  • Proven experience as a security officer or guard

  • 40 Hour state certification and PERC Card

  • Firearm’s Owners Identification Card required (FOID)

  • Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety

  • Familiarity with report writing

  • Excellent surveillance and observation skills

  • Valid Drivers License

  • Reliable Transportation

  • High School diploma is required; further education in security administration or a similar field is preferred
