Join Our Team as an Interventional Technologist at UPMC Williamsport!

Are you passionate about making a difference in patient care? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled  Interventional Technologist to join our  Invasive Radiology department at UPMC Williamsport. This is a  full-time position with hours from  Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. , plus rotating on-call duties during weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Perform Imaging Procedures : Execute a variety of technical procedures independently, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

\n
• Administer Contrast : Follow assigned protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.

\n
• Patient Positioning & Techniques : Demonstrate proper positioning and radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures.

\n
• Patient Identification & Protocols : Use two patient identifiers and universal protocol, review patient history, and apply specific departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.

\n
• Aseptic Technique & Safety : Foster an environment that supports aseptic technique and patient safety, incorporating a time-out process.

\n
• Clear Communication : Explain procedures to patients clearly and concisely, helping to alleviate their fears and ensure cooperation.

\n
• Coding & Tracking : Ensure all exams are properly coded, tracked through the RIS system, networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and charges are entered accurately.

• Team Interaction : Interact with patients and co-workers with a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. Work as a team member within the department and across other departments to expedite patient care efficiently.

• Support Other Departments : Perform general radiographic procedures as needed.

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

• ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Act 34
